From an administrative point of view, the Republic of Cyprus is split into five areas which are, in order of popularity with homebuyers, Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, a small part of the Famagusta district and Nicosia (which includes the capital). It can be a little confusing as the administrative areas have the same names as the main towns, but a quick look at our map should make things clearer.  Many foreign homebuyers are attracted by the tranquility of villages in the foothills of the Troodos mountains, which are inland and within the Limassol district.
