It certainly is ideal and whether you prefer amateur golf or have an impressive golf handicap, there's something for you on Aphrodite's island.
Over the last few years, the Cypriot government has become increasingly aware of the needs of golfers and has begun of a specific tourism plan to attract the high quality tourism that golfers bring to the island.
They have plans for a total of 14 golf courses on the island and some legendary golfers such as Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus are lending their names to golf course developments. The country is already a hugely popular tourist destination thanks to its perfect position in the eastern Mediterranean.
What better place for a golf break, especially now that budget airlines such as Monarch Airlines and Easyjet operate regular flights to Cyprus?
There are already four 18-hole golf courses on the island, three of them within easy reach of Paphos and one close to Limassol. We've got more details of those courses below as well as some information about new ones which are currently under construction or on the drawing board. The very first golf course to be built in Cyprus was the Tsada Golf Club, which is an 18-hole championship course, just 20 minutes drive from Paphos Town. There's also the Secret Valley Golf Club development, a further 18-hole championship course which is around 18km from Paphos and the award-winning golf development, Aphrodite Hills, close to Aphrodite's birthplace and set in stunning surroundings.
